Wildflower Day

Celebrate the beauty of the season at Wildflower Day—an annual community event full of color, nature, and local charm every first Saturday in November.

Imagine stepping outside your home come spring and seeing vibrant bursts of color greeting you from the hillsides, trails, and roadsides. This isn’t just a dream — it’s a vision we can bring to life, together. Introducing: Wildflower Way Day!

What is Wildflower Day?

Wildflower Day is a community-wide event where residents of the Frazier-Tejon region spread native wildflower seeds around their homes, hiking trails, and roadside edges — helping bring color, biodiversity, and joy to our mountain communities every spring.

Why the name?
The name Wildflower Way Day was chosen for its symbolism.

  • Wildflower celebrates the natural beauty of our local blooms.

  • Way represents both the physical paths we walk and drive, and our shared way of life — one that values nature, community, and care for our land.

  • Day turns this into an annual celebration of growth, color, and connection.

Together, it’s a name that captures the essence of planting beauty along the way we live.

When is it?

The first Saturday of November – timed just before seasonal rains, making it ideal for sowing native wildflower seeds like California poppies, lupine, tidy tips, and baby blue eyes. With a little winter help from Mother Nature, these seeds will burst into bloom by spring.

How You Can Join In

  • Plant seeds around your home or garden.

  • Toss a few along your favorite hiking trail.

  • Sprinkle some on roadside edges (safely, of course!).

  • Gather with neighbors and make it a local tradition.

You don’t need a green thumb — just a little time, a small bag of native seeds, and a love for the land we call home.
